Monday Already!? Tea and Videos: Misha Barton Goes Jewelry Shopping

Hey Everyone! Remember Misha Barton? The English American actress is best known for her role as Marissa on the 2003 Fox series "The OC." It may seem like yesterday but the series has come and gone and although, like all teens, Misha may have hit some speed bumps along the way, she's moved on to bigger and better things including two new movies set to be released later on this year... oh and jewelry shopping. She likes a fish necklace and wants to name it? That makes me an instant fan.

Love you some more Misha? You can check out her on celeb buzz here.

Monday (on Tuesday) Tea and Videos

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a ridiculously relaxing Labor Day weekend. This weekend I did my share of relaxing while working too...that's not so bad when you enjoy what you do. I've been working on the jewelry dose daily store, which will help to raise money for animal charities (I believe that jewelry can make our world, and the world of homeless animals a little -or much- brighter!) Anyway, so of course I talk about tea a lot here on jewelry dose daily, but I always forget to mention what kind of tea I drink. Sure, I vary it up but lately I've been drinking Calm by Tazo. This one is either low caffeine or caffeine free (interestingly enough, its not listed on the box). If you have any suggestion for great teas, I'm always more than happy to hear them! In the mean time, here are your videos!

Tea and Videos: Jewelry by Acclaimed 20th Century Sculptor Alexander Calder & Italian Diamond Jewelry by Elliot Chandler

Bird Teapot
China Hall Company
1938-1941
Some proclaim American sculptor Alexander Calder to be the most influential artist of the 20th century. By the 1960's he was known worldwide for his wire and kinetic (having a degree of movement) sculptures. He has been credited for inventing "the mobile." Art enthusiast (as well as babies) everywhere sing his praises for that one! Most are unaware, however, that he also created extraordinare wire jewelry as well. For today's tea and videos I'm sharing this video from the Philadelphia Museum of Art Alexander Calder jewelry exibit which took place in 2008. The is a must-see if you love wire jewelry, sculture, or the works of Alexander Calder. Check out my pick at marker 1:08/4:42. I'd love to wear this piece. I think its even more fun and outrageous than Madonna's cone bra of the 80's.

Like your sculptural flaire created in gold with diamonds on top?  Here Italian jeweler Elliot Chandler showcases some really wonderful pieces.  You can find my picks at marker 1:23/2:00 (these femme fatale style earrings are an all time favorite) and 0:16/2:00 (knotted mesh bracelets in fine rose and white gold).  The buckle ring is also done extremely tastefully.

Enjoy!
