Kaity's Finds: Earrings and Violence in Rush Hour 3!

As I was clicking through the channels the other day on my television, I noticed Rush Hour 3 featuring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker happened to be on. Usually I don't watch action films (especially when they are "threequals") , but during a certain fight sequence with the beautiful actress Youki Kudoh playing the role of the mysterious "Dragon Lady", I viewed something that really drew me into the scene/movie.

The action was titillating. The cinematography ... great! But what other than that could be so fascinating to me? It was the ravishing earrings Youki Kudoh was wearing with her traditional, yet chic, beautiful Asian attire.

Check them out in the screen caps taken below...

Sadly, I cannot for the life of me figure out who the designer is for those gorgeous jumbo pearl earrings, but I would totally kill for them... even if it meant having to fight Jackie Chan himself!

To watch Chan and Kudoh duel it out, check out this clip from the movie I found on youtube where you can also see Kudoh's earrings dangle and sway in glorious violent action! ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yT30qrdcoMk

Kaity's Finds: Orange You Glad Everybody's Wearing Orange this Season? No.

Kaity Stardust is definitely not a fan of the disturbing orange dress trend that has been surfacing, and is supposely part of the vivid color must-have trend of Spring 2012.  There's a reason they say 99% of people can't pull off wearing orange...and that's well, because they can't.  If you've recently been sentenced to incarceration however, we think orange is extremely fitting on you!  Let's take a look at some lovely ladies who might just get incarcerated by our fashion police on multiple counts of lewdness by color way.

Tory Birch Spring 2011 - Orange dress as part of the vivid color runway trend!

Orange makes its way to the Golden Globes!

Victoria Beckham is spotted wearing a very orangy get up! ...not that it would be tough to spot her in this!

The Bright Side of Orange - Check out these examples of orange done right!:

Kaity's Finds: Is Bieber going Balistic or is he a Meenie Miny Money Marketing Genius?

So, most of the world has already caught some sort of the "Bieber Fever" whether it be a good or bad type of infection. He's on shirts, commercials, all over the news and radio. Every where I turn I somehow see his face staring back at me.

But, things are getting pretty crazy with this kid. After Thanksgiving, WalMart released Bieber's own nail polish line, perfume, jewelry, and dog tag necklaces with a unisex smell so now you can walk around smelling the Bieber fever every where you frolic.

When asked about his new fragrance he told  WWD that he doesn't go for anything "too fruity" and “I actually like the Britney Spears perfume on girls. It smells good.”

Is he setting himself up as a fad failure or is he really a  marketing teenage genius? How long can he sustain this major marketing charade without making us all deathly sick of him?  Will we forever be stuck in Beiber fever hell? I guess that's something only time will tell... and to be frank, I don't feel that much more time is on his side.

Stay tuned next week for another edition of "Kaity's Finds"!

Kaity's Finds: Too Much Bib!

As most may have observed, necklace bibs are very hot right now. It took me a long while to get used to the trend, as I find most bibs to be too bulky and unwearable. After some hardcore web-hunting (I am ridiculously relentless) I DID find some bib necklaces I would invest in, though.

On the grounds that I love all our readers here at JDD, I concluded it's only fair I bestow my totally bodacious bib finds to you all!

To make it fun, I have also comprised some bad looking bibs at prices so high you your brain might explode!

The Good...

This Aqua black dress attached to a bib necklace is an excellent way to prove to others you are the master of bib wear. It's definitely one trendy combo that I have not seen much of yet, and I'm pretty excited to see if more designers begin to run with the "mix".

The Bad...

Retail Value: $750                                                             Retail Value: $925

Now, I'm sure some of you are aware of my love for JTV, but this host unfortunately displayed a grand example of how NOT to wear a bib necklace. Why JTV? WHY???

In my opinion, if you want to go with a bib necklace keep it simple. Don't wear it over green sweaters. Don't let it hang so low that you will be trapping lobster juice onto it. If you follow those three easy steps, I think you will do okay!

Thanks for reading and please be sure to stay tuned next Wednesday for more of Kaity's Finds!

Kaity's Finds: WHAT THE PUFF?!?!!

It seems as if  the "puffer jacket" trend is beginning to "blow up" again. This extremely unflattering way of keeping people warm is spreading fast.

For only $995 this jacket by designer Cinzia Rocca, will make you look as if you are wearing an amazingly tailored trash bag!

It will also keep you warm and comfortable! Well, comfortable up until someone pushes you over, and you're stuck rolling on the ground like a slug because your "puffer jacket" is so puffy you cant even get up.

I honestly cannot understand how this style of jacket would be appealing to anyone, other than the fact that it's warm.

All I see is a plastic bag with air pockets in it and a $1,000 price tag.

I say we leave the Puff to Puff Daddy, and puffer jackets be gone!!

On that lumpy note I leave you. Stay tuned next Wednesday for another edition of Kaity's Finds!

Kaity's Finds: Tanzanite...Get it Before it's Gone!

Tanzanite, a gorgeous blue gem that is a thousand times rarer than a diamond, is going to be exhausted within only 15 years. This definitely isn't some run of the mill stone!

Tanzanite is a newly discovered gem that literally took 550 million years to create. It was formed when the continents collided, and is only found in the foothills of Africa's tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro.

Even though the gem was just discovered in 1967, production has decreased by 70%!  Prices for Tanzanite are beginning to soar, which is why I say you should get it now, before it's dead and gone!
Tanzanite makes for an awesome heirloom and in my opinion...an engagement ring.

So seriously guys, get some Tanzanite before its production ceases! You will NOT regret it.

Kaity's Finds: Will Ska Fashion Go "One Step Beyond?"

That I'm not really sure of, but I'll rock steady with it regardless.

"But, what is ska?" Some have asked me.

I was a little shocked at how many had never even heard of ska before.

That is how I decided my "find" today would be dedicated to what ska is, and how we can incorporate it into our everyday fashionable lives!

Anyway, are you guys ready to find out what ska is? Ok.. here we go...

Ska is what created reggae! Yup. It's true! Before we had Bob Marley jammin' about "One Love" in the 70's, there was Prince Buster (circa late 1950's) skanking it up on the dance floor adorned in a fashion I covet.

What is that fashion like, you say? It's all about TWO-TONE! Black and white! Gwen Stefani, member of the ska band No Doubt, also designer of clothing company "L.A.M.B", would make a great example on how to take your ska fashion senses one giant step beyond.

Here are some of Stefani's most chic ska inspired designs by L.A.M.B...

Clothing and accessories I found that would suit the most stylish skankster....
Checkerboard dress by Very
Cute two tone hair pin.

.
I love this checkered necklace and earring set.
Wristlet by Marc Jacobs

Taking Ska back to the early 1960's with this stylish shot...

Gwen Stefani speaks about how her "ska girl" fashion sense lead up to the creation of L.A.M.B...

SKA MUSIC!

Now you should be more than prepared to skank out onto that dance floor in vogue!

I would like to give props to my uncle, A.K.A. Randy Now, (renowned DJ/Promoter of City Gardens and creator of the first "All Ska" radio show in America), for teaching me everything I know. Thanks man, and thanks to all our readers for, welll... reading!

Hey everyone.  Did you know our very own Kaity Stardust has been invited to help do press at the up and coming very first annual New Jersey Fashion Week?  As a freelance photographer, having the chance to photograph such an amazing event complete with access to fashion models and a runway is the chance of a lifetime to build clientel, portfolio, further one's creative repetoire, and get their name out!

Like many things, however, this opportunity never comes without a little bit of a catch or a price.  Kaity has been professionally photographing artists, musicians, and designer products for years, as well as working on her eye opening editorial spreads, landscapes, and animal photography.

For Kaity, photography is not just a fleeting hobby, but rather a lifelong professional goal, passion, and in-born talent.  At such a young age, Kaity already has years of photography experience, but professionally shooting a runway show would be an exciting first....but she can't do it without your help!

Kaity has worked to purchase each piece of equipment little by little through her own funds, but is still working towards purchasing the external flash she desperately needs to take on a wider array of jobs, such as runway shows.  Without this piece of equipment this young professional will miss an opportunity to showcase her work the way it deserves to be showcased in order to gain similar paid gigs in the future.

The good news is, you can help.  Kaity has teamed up with our Jewelry Dose Daily store to offer some of her hand selected "finds" in order to help you as well!  As expert buyers, we've placed a variety of STERLING SILVER JEWELRY in the JDD shop for WELL UNDER RETAIL VALUE (for a limited time) and are offering  FREE SHIPPING/DELIVERY.  We know this will help you get holiday shopping out of the way for friends, relatives, neighbors, teachers, etc.  Amazon, Ebay, Overstock,TJMaxx etc. have 'got nothing' on these prices and quality selections.  We set it up that way because we want to help you as much as your purchase will help us.

and during this one week...(only up until October 12)...

WE ONLY HAVE 7 DAYS, but purchasing is quick and easy.  Just shop around, select the piece you've fallen in love with or would like to give as a gift and pay securely with a credit card.  Your order will be shipped within days.

Kaity's Finds: Holistic Gemstone Healing

For centuries people have believed in the power of crystals in order to help facilitate well being both physically and mentally.  The earliest records of crystal healing have been traced back to Ancient Egypt. India’s Ayurvedic records and traditional Chinese medicine also state claim to the healing properties of crystls, dating back to 5000 years ago. When I discovered this about three years ago, I decided to check it out.

At first I thought the whole notion of "rocks curing ailments" a bit silly. I continued my research and read more and more testimonies. As I did this my mind opened to the fact that these "rocks" actually may be more than just beautiful stones placed in jewelry.

During this time I suffered from extreme anxiety and depression. I was on about six different medications and was at my wits end when it came to getting better. Nothing was helping so I figured "What the hell?" and really began to delve myself into the world of crystal healing. My collection of crystals expanded like wildfire, as did my jewelry. The more I worked with my crystals I realized that my anxiety had started to lessen and my mood swings began to stabilize. I was by no means "cured", but I was able to knock four medications out of a "crazy med" cocktail.

There is a great website I found that sells many varieties of jewelry, clothing, accessories, and merchandise. The reason this website  is so special to me is because their proceeds go directly to help world hunger, breast cancer, child health, literacy, save the rainforest, and animal rescue.

Happily, I was able to find beautiful jewelry on the site that was made with my favorite stones I most connect with.

Here is small list of what I found....
