Daily Jewel - Found - A Bold Look at a Bashful Price.

Long Wine Stone Cuff
Patrice's Pieces
$16
Alright, so you know I usually don't do the bargain shopping just for the sake of bargain shopping thing, but I happened to come across this bold little piece from an independent internet retailer.

It's called the Long Silver Wine Stone Cuff from Patrice's Pieces...and its only $16. If you love bold, purple, and darker silver tone, and are looking to get the look for a low price, this cuff is for you! It looks to me like it packs a punch at a great value. What do you think?

Reign of the Pyramids - Will 'Bad Boy' Jewelry Tenderize Your Heart?

So I'm guessing you've seen it by now...the meat tenderizer meets disco ball/punk meets glam pyrimid jewelry.  Boy has it been put out there.  Those who know me well are sure that I like my edge and could appreciate a good studding here and there, but this may or may not be getting a little bit ridiculous.  Everywhere you turn jewelry designers are putting out new designs that include this motif, even if it isn't necessarily expected given the rest of their collection.

Who started it? (this would be a long post.) What could it all mean?  Will pyramid pieces pulverize their way into becoming quintessential  ...or will the trend die out with teens and socialites who live in LA and the Upper East side (or truck stop frequent flyers in Tennesee)?  It's hard to say - but with anyone in between, there seems to be much more supply than demand, at least for now. ...and yes, there is a lot of populus between.

Kim Kardashian to Launch New Jewelry Line(s)

Kim Kardashian Jewelry for Bebe
Kim Kardashian got her start in the jewelry retail business while collaborating with sisters Courtney, and Chloe to create several pieces in conjuction with jewelry company Virgins, Saints, and Angels.  The over achieving Kardashian sister wasn't about to stop there.  Recently she has teamed up with one of the top jewelry designers in the world to create a new line of jewelry for which she is the one and only front woman.  Previews of the designs have been featured in People magazine and take cues from the recently popular sharp edges, statement pieces, and deco-punk-mod aestetic.  The design team calls the pieces "glam rock" and boasts a range of pieces that can be worn by regular people from day to evening.  The line will debut in major department stores in January 2011.  Prices range from $11-$150.  Kim has also been asked to collaborate on an accessories line with young women's retailer Bebe with pieces set to release around upcoming holiday season if all goes according to plan.

Knot Again! The Beauty of Knotted Jewelry and a Splurge or Steal

Knots have shown us that something that is an intricate mess can be astonishingly beautiful and strong at the same time.  Knots can tie two things together.  Knots can help make something stronger.  Knots literally create a fabric as a whole (as my mother always tells me, its "knitted fabric," not "knitting")  Knots can get in the way.  Knots can be created to slip or created to be unbreakable.  Knots in and of themselves can be so amazingly beautiful that we now wear them in absense of any utilitarian duty (most of us aren't sailors).

Knots have a symbolism that can be twisted endlessly to draw metaphor to the countless aspects of life as we know it.  I've always been fascinated by knots.  As a designer I've created, worn, and sold many pieces featuring knots (even pre-knot trend).  That's why I've decided to bring you this splurge or steal on the newly popularized knotted statement necklaces.

NYC Housewife Ramona Singer to Reveal New Pieces on HSN Tomorrow

Bravo NYC Housewife Ramona Singer debuted her first jewelry collection back in 2009.  Her pieces, which first were offered for major public sale on the Home Shopping Network, received a great response during their first airing.  Many people are looking foward to watching the animated Ramona bring out the new pieces she has to offer tomorrow afternoon on HSN.  Whether you're a Ramona fan or critic...or a jewelry fan or critic, you can check out the pieces on HSN cable network on Wednesday, August 11 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. EST.  The new pieces are said to be estate and art deco inspired.

What about Jewelry Home Show Companies...?

Hmm...what can I say about my thoughts on this type of business plan? I don't personally mind the whole "girl night out" thing, or even expecting to buy a piece to gift my hostess back for holding a get-together. In the North East, these concepts, however, are actually pretty taboo. We don't like things "pushed on us." We don't even love in-home get-togethers. This business model is usually lost on us, left to fend for itself in the south east and midwestern states (as it does quite well) That being said, I'm not such a typical New Jersey resident when I say I appreciate a good presentation and get together here and there. I like the entertainment! As long as the product is of decent value I'm okay with this! Sometimes they are…and sometimes they aren’t!

Here are some jewelry home show companies whose catalogs I enjoy browsing - great eye candy!

Stella & Dot
Up to the moment looks, trend jewelry, costume jewelry, silver jewelry

Silpada
Sterling silver jewelry with gemstones, the leading sterling silver direct sales company in the US with pieces.  The new 2010-2011 Silpada catalog was just released!

Morgan Dane Designs
A newer sterling silver direct sales company with pieces that go for the artisan look. Pieces are made both in the united states and abroad.

Inspiranza
Another new sterling silver direct sales company with a slightly lower price-point and more designs with a shiny silver finish.

AuraStella
Yet another new sterling silver company with a slightly different spin. Their catalog features a harvest of sterling silver jewelry made by artisans in several different countries.

or if you are going for something different...

...Individual Artisans and Designers
…and also, please don’t forget it is super chic to have your own in home trunk show or private shopping event with a local artisan or designer!

If you are a representative, customer, or fan, please feel free to share your experiences with us!

I’ll try to update this list as I find out about new companies.

If you are a representative who would like to post, let us know!
