Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge caused quite the stir recently when she "shopped" myflashtrash.com, the online accessories website founded and run by UK reality TV star Amber Atherton. Atherton is known for her appearances on the British reality series "Made in Chelsea" which highlights the midadventures of a several young affluent British socialites.
Although the Huffington Post compared Ms. Middleton's mini shopping spree to "Gwyneth [Paltrow] wearing "Jersey Shore" star Sammi Sweetheart's work-out clothes," the purchases actually don't at all imply that the duchess likes to "slum it" or be "Jersey-style-gaudy."
Myflashtrash.com actually sells pieces from "up-and-coming" jewelry designers that range from cute to to classically classy. After Abby Keys, PR executive for MyFlashTrash sent over a lookbook of a few designers that she thought would work well for the duchess, she soon received a request for seven different pieces from the site for Ms. Middleton to wear on her upcoming tour of Asia.
Kate Middleton chose pieces by Scotland based designer Catherine Zoraida and from the British based Serretta Morris. Zoraida's pieces feature abstract and organic forms in beautiful goldtone while Morris's pieces feature luxurious natural gemstones... each classic and safe choices for the duchess.
The Duchesses MyFlashTrash Faves: Double Leaf Earrings, Ash Leaf & Adventurine Earrings, Spread Your Wings Bracelets and a Conch Cuff from Zoraida, and Vermeil Earrings and Red Sponge Coral Earrings designed by Morris.
